Kleppe lunden School – A Sustainable and Thoughtfully Designed Learning Environment
Kleppe lunden School is a newly built primary school in Kleppe Norway, designed to blend naturally into its surroundings, drawing inspiration from traditional school buildings and agricultural structures.
The client set an ambitious goal of reducing CO2 emissions by 45%, which significantly influenced the planning process, emphasizing space efficiency and sustainability. The school consists of three gabled buildings, strategically positioned to optimize sunlight in the schoolyard.
A key priority throughout the project has been ensuring harmony between the landscape, interior, and overall architectural vision. To achieve this, the architectural team has worked closely throughout the entire process to deliver a cohesive and balanced solution.
The school has achieved a BREEAM “Very Good” certification, is built to passive house standards, and features solar panels covering more than 75% of its rooftops.
